We are a 114-room hotel and conference center with a prestigious lakefront location, offering guests spectacular views of the deepest lake in Wisconsin, Green Lake. Heidel House was originally built in 1890 as a private estate. It was only in 1945 that it became Heidel House Resort, serving locals and tourists in Green Lake for over 70 years. Heidel House, under prior ownership, closed in May 2019, but a Spring 2021 reopening under new ownership and management has re-established the hotel as a pillar of hospitality in the region.

Heidel House Hotel & Conference Center is proud to offer our guests several amenities such as an indoor pool with 2 whirlpools, a seasonal outdoor pool, and two different dining options (Oakwood Bar & Restaurant and Wave Pub & Grill). Our position on the shores of Green Lake has allowed us to enjoy idyllic views everyday, no matter the season. We are also conveniently located across the street from Tuscumbia Country Club, where guests get to enjoy a game or two of golf. We are also strategically situated on Green Lake to offer nearby attractions and sites that are within easy reach. The Heidel House was originally built in 1890 as a private residence which featured 183 guest rooms and offered stunning views of pristine Green Lake. In 1945, it was purchased by investors and converted into a resort that served local residents and out-of-town guests until its closure.
After closing its doors in spring of 2019, the Green Lake community and all who visited were left without a clue as to what the once magnificent building would become. Hope and sparks of newness were ignited in the community by Lighthouse Hotel Development Group (a division of Lighthouse Hospitality Group and owned by Green Lake Hotel Group LLC.). The Heidel House has undergone a multi-million-dollar makeover under the entrepreneurial vision of its new owners.
Redevelopment began in October of 2020 and included the complete remodeling of the hotel including all new furniture, carpeting, paint, wallcoverings, parking accommodations, and landscaping.
The Heidel House Hotel and Conference Center re-opened its doors late Summer of 2021 and is now a part of the Choice Hotels Ascend Collection. The Choice Hotels Ascend Collection features historic, boutique, and one-of-a-kind guest properties around the world.
