Duane Porter Will Lead Fine Dining Restaurant’s Culinary Team


GREEN LAKE, Wis. – January 31, 2013 – Heidel House Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Duane Porter as the new Sous Chef of Grey Rock. Chef Porter will lead the culinary team at the resort’s fine dining restaurant, which boasts an award-winning wine selection, incredible lake views and unequalled ambiance amplified by its setting in a historic lakeside mansion.

Chef Porter’s background includes over 30 years of culinary experience including kitchen management and culinary arts. Most recently, he was the Executive Chef of the Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira, Wisconsin. Prior to this he took a non-traditional step by leaving behind a successful 28-year career to pursue a lifelong dream of attending culinary school. He completed his culinary arts degree with honors in 2011.

Originally from Mesa, Arizona, Chef Porter draws inspiration from his residence and extensive travels along the Pacific Coast and southern United States. He enjoys discovering local culinary styles and flavors, and has developed a particular affection for southwest flair and French cuisine. His experiences in both corporate and independent restaurants have given him well-rounded knowledge and taught the importance of consistency and balance.
