Vietnam Veterans Day Open House at American Legion - Green Lake

The open house will include a remembrance ceremony for those who died in and as a result of the war. Displays will be set up of many of the veterans memorabilia and photo albums from that war. In addition, presentations by the UW-Extension office in Fond du Lac County concerning Radon will take place at 11:30 a.m. and a presentation by Alliant Energy on residential lighting and the appliance program will also take place. Admission to the 2014 Ripon Home Show is simply a donation of food or a goodwill offering to be given to the Traded Treasurers Thrift Boutique and Community Food Pantry.

Birder Tom Schultz will share bird watching tips, and the group will look for resident and migrant species that utilize these woods and stream side habitats. Participants will walk the trails through this 40+ acre Conservancy Partnership property located along the Silver Creek Inlet and several dug channels.

Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen at Thrasher Opera House - Green Lake

As members of The Byrds, The Dillards, The Flying Burrito Brothers and the Desert Rose Band, Hillman and Pedersen have been part of the fabric of American music for nearly half a century. In the '80s, the pair helped define the sound of modern country-rock in the Desert Rose Band, and since the mid-'90s the two have been performing together as an acoustic duo.

Buffalo Farm Tour - Green Lake

Join the Green Team for this unique tour of 4M Bison Farm with Marcel and Marian Mildebrandt, located near traditional Native American encampments on the far east shore of Green Lake. Get up close and personal with a buffalo herd and learn about what 4M Bison Farm is doing to protect the waters of Green Lake. If we’re lucky, we may even get to see a few newly-born bison calves! Attendees should arrive promptly at 9 a.m. to start the guided tour.

Free Wheelin' Saturday - Green Lake

Bike riders of all ages and abilities are invited to get their bicycles out of winter storage for this Memorial Day weekend. Bike rides of different lengths will take place throughout the day including 9 a.m. guided rides for Loop the Lake and Huckleberry, then city circuit rides throughout the day. Join Town Square in revealing their new CHN bike garden at 11 a.m. and participate in Green Lake Greenways’ bike rodeo bike blenders.

Join the Green Team on a tour of a local and hidden gem. Featuring gushing natural springs flowing from under layers of bedrock, Powell Spring is an amazing feature in early spring, and a place that few people have witnessed before. Please keep in mind that the terrain can be uneven in places, and therefore adequate fitness is required for this tour.
