Recreation Supervisor

Heidel House Resort & Spa is currently hiring a Recreation Supervisor responsible for the development, implementation and control of all programs relating to guests' recreation, with heavy emphasis on group recreation and family activities. Will work with different age groups leading different activities from sports, crafts, and team building activities for corporate groups as well as manage both the indoor and outdoor pools ensuring cleanliness and safety for guests. Must enjoy working with people, working outdoors, knowledge of bikes and basic repair is also helpful. Schedule varies on a weekly basis, must be available between the hours of 7am - 11pm, Sunday - Saturday to accommodate the needs of our guests. Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in the strategic planning and implementation of all aspects of marketing, advertising and public relations, as they assist the Marketing Manager. 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Regularly write interesting copy for press releases, web pages, social media posts, advertisements and more.
  • Use social media to monitor, respond and engage with customers and prospective customers. Maintain proactive communication along with monitoring and engaging conversation as it develops about the company/brand.
  • Develop and create ads, posters, flyers, menus and collateral promotional material for the resort, spa, weddings, meetings, on-site restaurants, etc.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager on the maintenance and marketing of our property websites.
    • Keep all information and images current and fresh on the site.
    • Develop and maintain e-mail newsletter lists.
    • Develop and implement e-mail newsletters.
    • Review and research other sites, including our primary competition to make sure we are utilizing our website to its fullest capacity.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to deliver the best online user experience possible through our website and ensure everything we do, online or print, represents the brand and supports the marketing initiatives.
  • Must think strategically as well as being willing to implement the ideas and programs themselves.
  • Acquire approval from the Marketing Manager along with the appropriate manager(s) for all ads and collateral promotional material prior to placing or displaying them.
  • Take photos at events and throughout the year of the property and staff. Maintain the inventory of photo work.
  • Prepare, participate in and possibly facilitate the bi-weekly marketing meetings.
  • Prepare and place press releases when appropriate. Research and suggest new public relations opportunities. 

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in marketing, journalism, communications or graphic design is preferred.
  • Proficiency with social media using Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and other up and coming social media outlets.
  • Excellent creative writing and editing skills.
  • Possess  some knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Possess some basic knowledge of Dreamweaver and HTML coding is a plus.

Catering Manager

The purpose of the Catering Manager is to coordinate and generate new and profitable business. To assist the sales managers in the up sell of existing and potential business. Responsible for generating profitable business through function space, audio visual, and food and beverage revenues. Directly accountable for the coordination and sales efforts of the Banquet Department and responsible for the development of subordinate managers and attainment of department revenue goals. To be assigned customer’s sole coordination contact for an organization’s entire event, including food and beverage. Will solicit catering non-group room events (e.g., specializes in Christmas parties, anniversary, civic organizations, seminars, motor coach and small scale educational, government and corporate groups).

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for achieving sales F&B goals in the Catering/Banquet Departments.
  • Ensure adequate management coverage within the Catering Department to include weekend and weekday evenings.
  • Maintain high personal guest contact by telephone and in person. If necessary, includes visits to the guest’s place of business.
  • Is responsible for maintaining all established tracing procedures to insure sales and perpetual contact with all accounts in designated territory or assigned groups are up to date and completed on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for accuracy of bookings, accountable for all diary entries, appropriate function spaces utilization, changes, and the communication of such to all appropriate persons involved.
  • Responsible for coordinating off site activity for resort groups (e.g. Golf, Fishing, Transportation, etc.) through recreation and concierge departments.
  • Responsible for reviewing group sales contract at time of coordinating event to insure all contractual obligations are fully understood. Will be responsible for the entire coordination of all assigned conferences with or without guestrooms attached. These include preparation of group resumes and/or cover sheets, all meetings, food and beverage, VIP requests, and guest room assignments/changes after contractual arrangement are entered into with Sales Manager.
  • Will attend/represent the Catering Department at required meetings, i.e., Staff, Resume, BEO, Catering, etc.
  • Is to be the main liaison to the Food and Beverage Departments. To be responsible for the communication effort of the Catering Department with all departments at the resort.
  • Is required to organize and conduct, with Sales Managers, pre-Convention meetings, that are deemed to be warranted, for any group planning to use the resort.
  • Will develop and implement theme parties, props, special event parties, holiday parties, etc., as needed.
  • Responsible for following proper financial controls regarding billing and advance payments.
  • Responsible for representing the hotel at any trade show deemed appropriate by the Director of Sales and Catering.
  • Will greet all clients at time of arrival to the resort. Will introduce clients to all necessary personnel involved in the execution of the conference. Responsible for continually monitoring the client’s satisfaction while on property.
  • Will assist the Sales manager on conducting client exit interviews prior to the departure of the group from the resort.
  • Responsible for performing MOD duties as scheduled.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years in a catering position, preferably a catering manager position.
  • A degree in hospitality or business is preferred

Banquet Manager

The position of Banquet Manager is one of increased responsibility.  The position is designed to enhance and strengthen the Banquet and Guest Service staff and their daily operations. 

The primary functions of the Banquet Manager are as follows:

  • To organize and oversee the daily operation of the Food & Beverage Department’s Banquet Division.
  • To act as liaison between groups on property and the Guest Service Manager.
  • To aid in the organization of the Banquet Division on a weekly and monthly basis, including but not limited to:
    • Updating the Contract Book

Essential Job Duties:

  • Respond in a professional manner to all Internet, telephone, and mail inquiries to acquaint prospect/clients with Heidel House Resort facilities, services, amenities, and rates in both written and verbal form.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining current information on all Top 50 Target Accounts, including contacts, types of business, decision dates, organizational philosophies, organizational changes, etc.
  • Utilize independent judgment to develop a Sales Plan to maximize business growth and revenue within the designated territory/market(s) and attain the desired goals.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual/quarterly booking pace revenue goals established by the Director of Sales and Catering.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding prospecting, telephone sales calls, outside sales calls, site visits, and on-site entertainment goals established by the Director of Sales and Catering.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when negotiating booking contracts with regard to room rates, service fees, cancellation fees, and any other contract negotiated fees.
  • Be the authorized contract signer on behalf of Heidel House Resort to sign contracts for group business.

Yacht Captain

The Yacht Captain is responsible for the safe and proper operation of the Heidel House Escapade.

Qualified candidates will:

  • Be responsible for having a prior knowledge, or the ability to gain the needed knowledge of piloting a 57-foot yacht
  • Monitor lake and weather conditions to ensure the yacht operates in safe conditions while being constantly aware of possible dangers, and have the foresight to act in a safe manner when dealing with potential problems
  • Need to have the mechanical knowledge, preferably with diesel engines, or have the ability to gain the mechanical knowledge to analyze and perform simple repairs/upkeep on the yacht
  • Address the passengers from a prepared text using the on-board communications system
  • Follow the monthly yacht schedule as prepared by the Sales Department
  • Totally knowledgeable and able to handle emergencies while afloat, such as fire—steer yacht to a shallow bay, engine failure—radio ashore to alert maintenance and the proper authorities
  • Assure all equipment on boat is in good condition and that an adequate number of life jackets are on board while on the water for the number of passengers and crew
  • Continuously check and inspect all furniture, equipment, and work areas for safety hazards, reporting any and all such hazards immediately
  • Perform light cleaning duties on the yacht, and all other tasks as requested

The yacht captain must:

  • Lift 25 pounds to the waist
  • Lift 25 pounds overhead
  • Work safely and effectively in temperature ranges up to and exceeding 100 degrees F
  • Read, write, and speak English as to communicate effectively and comprehend all materials, messages, and information offered to you
  • Have the counting skills necessary to effectively perform, operate, and maintain equipment to the manufacturer’s specifications
  • Capable of climbing ladders while carrying items
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

 

Bartender

The Bartender is to provide friendly and competent beverage service. Bartenders are to be pleasant and maintain a positive attitude during all resort functions. Must display effective communication and multi-tasking skills, along with a friendly and outgoing personality. Hours will include mornings and/or evenings, as well as weekends.

 

Busser

Facilitate food service. Clean tables, remove dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens; set tables; replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes; supply service bar with food; and serve items such as water, condiments, and coffee to patrons. Shifts will be mornings and/or evenings as well as weekends.

 

Banquet Captain

We are looking for a strong, fun and assertive proven leader to join our team as Banquet Captain.

Qualified candidates must possess excellent work habits and organizational skills.  Must be able to remain calm, collected and courteous in adverse situations, have strong communication skills, and be able to perform all duties and tasks of a Banquet Server.  The Banquet Captain is responsible for pre-shift meetings with staff before each function, as well as the delegation of job duties within a given event. On the spot decision-making may also be necessary if the Banquet Manager is not available.  A drive for guest satisfaction is required.

Experience as a Banquet Server required with previous lead or captain experience preferred.  Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to include working late nights and weekends.

 

Banquet Servers

Heidel House Resort & Spa is currently looking to hire several Banquet Servers. The Banquet Server is a highly visible, responsible individual who deals primarily with the service of food at banquets, parties, cookouts, etc., in all locations on the Heidel House Resort property. All Servers do "hands-on" work in the set-up, implementation and clean-up of each function. It is required that each person be knowledgeable in the areas of table and beverage service. This job also requires a keen sense of detail in the proper forms of service, striving for the ultimate goal of Customer Satisfaction.

Must be available to work days, nights and weekends, able to stand for 8 hour shifts, and work professionally in a fast paced setting.

 

Server/Waitstaff

We are currently seeking an applicant who can be responsible for coordinating stations and communicating with front and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

Licensed Massage Therapist desired for resort spa location. Must have experience with Swedish and Deep Tissue massages, knowledge of Shiatsu, Neuromuscular, Sports, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy and other physiotherapies preferred.
