There's so many options for group fun and team building at Heidel House Resort & Spa. Our sales team and recreation department are happy to help plan your activities. Call us at 800.444.2812.
Choose from a variety of activities including:
Golf - The Green Lake area boasts some of the finest golf courses in Wisconsin. In fact, 99 holes are available within a short drive from Heidel House Resort. We'll set up your tee time or help organize a scramble or tournament for your team. View ideas for team building with golf.
Escapade Yacht Cruises - The Escapade features voyages for the public as well as private events complete with catering. The 60-foot yacht holds up to 60 people for cocktail receptions and up to 34 for dinner cruises. Amenities include an air-conditioned cabin, a stocked bar and fully equipped galley. We also offer a great Motorcoach yacht package.
Spa Activities - Looking for a hands-on approach to lifting spirits and building good will? Group activities inspired by Evensong Spa will create an oasis of relaxation in the midst of your meeting or event. View the group spa recreation menu.
Pontoon Scavenger Hunt - This adventure will lead you from shore to shore around historic and beautiful Green Lake. Teams will decipher the clues given and follow their lead to various points of interest on and around the lake. When you reach your destination, take a creative team photograph with the object or location. The winning team will have the most creative and imaginative photos. Pontoon scavenger hunts generally run 2 - 3 hours and may be custom tailored to your event.
Ropes Course - Navigate your team through this unique course that challenges the mind and body. Located nearby at the Green Lake Conference Center. View the Ropes Course Guide.
Campfires - This group and family favorite is available any time of the year. We supply the fire, extra wood, marshmallows, s'more fixings, roasting sticks and a fire attendant. You supply the fun and the campfire songs.
Scavenger Hunt - A wacky competition where individuals or teams search for clues and items around the property. Each clue has a point value. The winner is the team or individual with the most points at the end of the time period. Scavenger hunts generally run 1 - 1½ hours.
Tournaments - We can plan a volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, tennis or lawn game tournament for your group. The events are even run or refereed by a member of our recreation staff. Additional games may be available.
Heidelympics - A little friendly competition run by our recreation staff. Events range from tug-of-war and water balloon tag to dodgeball and limbo contests.
Recreation Rentals - Whether you are looking for a relaxing ride, a fast-paced cruise or a real adventure, we have a watercraft rental to suit your needs. Available from our beach through Action Rentals.
Heidel House Resort's bike trails (try Mascoutin Trail or Loop the Lake) and hiking trails are a fabulous way to enjoy a warm day or the beautiful fall colors. Mountain bikes, or if you prefer, fishing poles (or sign up for a professionally guided charter), are available for a minimal hourly fee. Tennis rackets, as well as basketball and volleyball supplies are complimentary.
When the temperature drops, you can still enjoy the outdoors by taking advantage of our complimentary ice skates and sleds, or rent cross country skis and snowshoes for an hourly fee or half day rental. (Ski through our grounds or on the Red Pine Ski Trails or Green Lake Conference Center trails).
All rentals are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Events - Join in on our pre-planned fun! We offer year-round events and entertainment for all to enjoy. Check out upcoming Heidel House Resort events. Chances are there is also something going on in the community during your stay. View the Green Lake calendar of events.
More Team Building Ideas
The opportunities are endless! Here are some team building ideas our staff can easily organize on our wooded grounds, sandy beach or in other open areas, such as Green Lake parks:
- Group Knot - The group is arranged in a knot and has to work together to untangle themselves.
- Mine Field - The group determines things that are detrimental to functioning as a group. Objects are used to represent these issues and partners must lead each other blindfolded through the "mine field."
- Canyon Bridge - Two groups meet on a narrow bridge. The groups need to pass each other to get to the other side of the canyon without falling off the bridge.
- Trust Falls - The ultimate trust activity.
- Wind in the Willows - Similar to Trust Falls, this exercise involves the whole group.
- Blind Walk - The group is divided into pairs with one partner blindfolded. The seeing partner leads the blindfolded partner on a challenging walk.
- Blanket Volleyball - Two teams, each with a blanket, volley items back and forth.
- Blind Shapes - Everyone is blindfolded and must form into different shapes as a group.
- Mummy Wraps - This icebreaker is a relay race between two or more teams where one member from each group is wrapped
