Recreation

There's fun for everyone at Heidel House Resort & Spa. Our recreation coordinator can help plan your activities. What are you in the mood for? Learn more about the area with a video, or check out the following activities:

Great summer activities abound

• Hiking trails through the woods and prairies.
• Walking paths, for a scenic tour of the grounds and of the Green Lake area.
• Swimming in our indoor or outdoor pool.
• Watercraft rentals on-site, including personal watercrafts, pontoon boats and more.
  
• Bike rentals, including maps of great ride routes. Did you know? Wisconsin is the best state in the midwest for biking.
• Fishing, for northern pike, walleye, bass, panfish, trout, perch, catfish and more. Cast off from the pier, rent a boat or catch a professionally guided charter year-round. Fishing boats, basic gear and licenses are available in the summer.
  
• Volleyball games, including tournaments we can organize for your group.
• Tennis, on our two courts. Balls and racquets provided.
• Kids Kamp, for kids aged 5–12. Advance reservations required.
• Exploring Green Lake and the surrounding area, for antiques, art and great shopping.
• Scavenger Hunt, for groups of all sizes. A great team-building activity.
• Heidelympics, for a little friendly competition. Events range from tug-of-war and water balloon tag to dodgeball and limbo contests.

Fall and winter activities add a rosy glow to your cheeks.

• Cross-country ski trails and equipment rental.
  • Heidel House Trail borders Tuscumbia golf course, with one- and three- mile loops. Generally level, traversing native prairies, woods and wetlands.
  • Red Pine Ski Trails at Mecan River Outfitters offers 15 miles of groomed and tracked trails passing through red pines, hardwoods and marshland. For all experience levels. Rentals available; trail fees required.
• Snowshoeing offers a different take on winter. Rent from us or bring your own.
• Sledding, thanks to some very fun hills left by a glacier. Fun for all ages.
• Ice-skating on our tree-ensconced rink, complete with warming house. Bring your own skates. A limited number of complimentary skates are available.
• Relax and unwind in the waterfall whirlpool or steam room at Evensong Spa. We’ll even schedule a facial or massage for you.
• Downhill skiing, fishing and bowling are all available nearby.
• Swimming in our indoor pool.
