Oktoberfest
October 23, 2010
Join us for traditional German-style food, beer and live music. Participate in a ceremonial blessing of the beer, polka dancing contest, brat eating contest or das boot relay. The Buttons & Banjos Band will perform from 2-5:30 p.m. followed by Die Spiel Meisters featuring Tuba Dan from 6-10 p.m. Special appearance by the Klement's Racing Sausages.

Green Lake Association's Hike the Winnebago & Hammer's Trails - Green Lake
September 4; 8:30 - 11 a.m.
Enjoy a walk on the trails in the two newest Conservancy Partnership Properties.  Walk both Hammer’s Trail (in the Assembly Creek and Springs Conservancy) and the historic Winnebago Trail along the shore of Green Lake (Winnebago Trail Preserve).  Both of these properties were purchased in 2009.  Participants should meet at the Hammer’s Trail trail head, located a short distance southwest of the Tea House at the Green Lake Conference Center (at the corner of Hillside Rd and Log Cabin Rd).  There will be about 3+ miles of walking, encountering a few rolling hills and one relatively steep descent. Participants should bring their own water, snacks, good hiking shoes, and be ready to walk at 8:30. Siegel Schwall Reunion Band at Thrasher Opera House - Green Lake

Along with the first-wave British Invasion bands like The Rolling Stones, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, and stateside groups like The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Siegel-Schwall Band were instrumental in The Great Blues Revival of the 1960's. 2010 Wisconsin State Chili Cook-Off - Green Lake
September 11; 11:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Approximately 40 cooks will start cooking their facorite recipes beginning at 11:00 am. Spectators can enjoy the festive atmosphere mingling with the chefs and sampling their salsas and other hot items. Chili sampling begins at 3 pm when the judges will determine who the new champion is. First place nets $750.00 and the opportunity to compete at the world championship in Charleston, WV for a prize of $25,000. The Green Lake Rotary Club will once again provide everyone with a local DJ and live entertainment provided by the Yellowhammers starting at noon. As always, the Rotary will be selling their own delicious chili along with brats, dogs, nachos and lots of cold beverages. This free event runs until 5pm and is fun for the whole family.

Ripon Medical Center & Green Lake Greenways Movin' on the Mascoutin - Ripon & Berlin - Green Lake

Join RMC and Green Lake Greenways as we bike the scenic, 12-mile Mascoutin Valley State Trail. The trail runs between Ripon and Berlin. We will depart Fountain View Care Center (in Ripon) at 10am! You will bike at your own pace. In Berlin, you can purchase lunch, and/or a t-shirt if you wish. The ride is free, but proceeds from lunch and t-shirt sales will go to improve and maintain the trail. Enriched Christian Marriage Workshop at the Green Lake Conference Center - Green Lake

Golden Days Harvest Fest - Green Lake

Maria Muldaur at the Thrasher Opera House - Green Lake

Maria's first solo album "Maria Muldaur," released in 1973, contained her hit single "Midnight at the Oasis" which reached # 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974.  Later that year, she released her second album "Waitress In A Donut Shop". This included a re-recording of "I'm a Woman",the Leiber and Stoller number first associated with Peggy Lee and a standout feature from her Jug Band days.  She has continued to perform, tour, and record since her success in the mid-1970s, with an incredible 27 albums to her credit and collaboration on many more!
