Greetings,
I don't like saying it, but summer is drawing to a close
and fall is fast approaching. It's not that I dislike fall,
actually I love the crisp air and beautiful scenary, it is
when I think of what comes after fall that I begin to
shiver.
This month I know I'll be working on wrapping up
some of my projects
around the house, specifically some landscaping that
has turned into a summer-long project. The final
touch will be planting my spring bulbs
tulips, etc.) so I have beautiful, colorful flowerbeds
come spring.

Travel Green Wisconsin recognizes tourism-related
businesses that are reducing their environmental
impact through operational and other improvements.
We have long had a strong commitment to protecting,
preserving and conserving our environment. Our
sucess depends very much on maintaining and
respecting the pristine waters, woodlands and
prairies in this area. We're proud to be one of the first
full service resorts to carry the Travel Green banner.
Some of the "green" measures we're taking are:
- Train staff in environmentally sound service
practices.
- Avoid using disposable dinnerware when
glass/ceramics are an option.
- Use environmentally safe cleaning products.
- Minimize energy use by use of motion sensors to
turn on lights in public restrooms.
- Schedule watering on the grounds for most
efficient use of resources.
- Give guests the option to not change sheets and

claims it is sandal season year 'round. I think she

Capture the beauty of fall
As you drive down the road, you may notice that some
of the trees are starting to have hints of color. The
trees surrounding Green Lake
are always beautiful this time of year, especially from

Here are a few tips to help you take some amazing
pictures:
- Move in close and fill your lens with the subject.
This will show off the details of your subject and
eliminate background distractions.
- Turn the camera on its side. Many subjects look
much better when photographed vertically.
- Place your subject off-center. This can make a
simple picture much more interesting.
- Lock the focus to create sharp pictures. If your
subject is off-center, center the subject, press the
shutter button half way down, re-frame the picture
while still holding the shutter button and finish by
pressing the shutter button all the way down.
