September 2005 Heidel House News
Greetings,
It's my favorite time of year! Although you can't tell by the weather that it's autumn: It's 90 degrees as I write to you. There are so many reasons why I think fall is the best time of year. One - The landscapes are painted with vibrant colors. Two - The fresh scent of crops in the fields. Three - The clear skies over pristine Green Lake. Oh, I could go on forever!

In honor of this wonderful season, we've created the ultimate fall excursion package. Read on for all the details, more great happenings, and for the winner of last month's contest.

Happy travels,
Loni

Tailgating How-To's

Legend has it that tailgating started in the late 1800s. After a long trip, football enthusiasts had to cook in their carriages or grill behind their horses. By the 1970s, tailgating was made more convenient because of station wagons and portable grills.

Now arranging for the pre-game bash has become a big deal. Believe it or not, there is an art to tailgating. For instance, you should always dress in team colors. Plan your menu ahead of time, make a checklist of the items you want to bring. Fly a flag so your group can spot you, decorate accordingly, and make friends with your parking lot neighbors. Most importantly, clean-up after yourself.

By following these key guidelines, your tailgating party will be a success. But what if you can't make it to the game? Our Boathouse lounge serves as a great alternative. With ice cold beer, food specials at half-time, and a 17-foot screen, you won't even notice that you aren't outdoors. You can't get service like that at the stadium.
