Where getting away means getting together
Greetings,
I think the best thing about summer is simply being outside and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us. There are many opportunities this summer to do so and enjoy live entertainment and delicious food at the same time. I hope you can join us for our annual Lobster Bakes and Sunsplash, plus be sure to make a reservation for our Chef's Wine Pairings, the first of which is Saturday, June 14.

Happy Travels,
Michelle

Summer is here and that means we are a wonderful place to enjoy some fine outdoor dining experiences. Set on the shores of Green Lake, these two dining options will be a treat for your senses.

Our first Lobster Bake of the year will be held on Friday, July 11. Feast on live Maine lobster, grilled marinated shrimp, New England clam chowder and much more! Enjoy entertainment by Jim Rosetti. Reservations required. The cost is $59 per person.

The Chef's Wine Pairing is a new event created for those who enjoy sampling food and wine. The event will be held lakeside on June 14 at 5:30 p.m. Hors d 'oeuvres and wine sampling will be served with the cocktail reception before dinner and then five courses will be paired with Door County wines. During the pairing event, there will be live entertainment by Bob Balsley who will take you on a journey from jazz to classical with side trips to every imaginable style.

Roast the Perfect Marshmallow
Summer is here and there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting around a campfire with my friends and family. Enjoying a marshmallow is the perfect summer treat. Here are some tips for roasting the perfect marshmallow.
1. Get the correct roasting stick. It should be thin enough at the roasting end not to overwhelm the marshmallow and long enough for you sit a safe, three-foot distance away from the fire.
2. Place one marshmallow at the end of the stick. Patience is the key. Cook one at a time.
3. Find the hottest part of the fire, it is usually a low, blue flame. Hold the marshmallow above the flame and slowly twirl it like a rotisserie. As it starts to brown, turn it and repeat until the entire marshmallow is golden brown.
4. Make sure it is cooked equally on all sides. And keep it close to the flame but not too close or it will catch on fire.
5. Give the marshmallow a light squeeze. If the middle no longer feels firm, it is perfect. Eat and enjoy!

Sunsplash Fun!
Join us for our annual summer party! It all happens lakeside by the beach on Saurday, July 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be fun for the whole family. Hot off the grill foods, kids activities, summer specialty drinks, a dunk tank and Escapade cruises. Live entertainment by Black N White begins at noon and the Eddie Butts Band begins playing at 3:30 p.m. Plan on joining us for a day of summer fun!
