Answers...
Greetings,

One of my pet peeves is not feeling comfortable while traveling. I'm not referring to the wrong pair of shoes, I'm talking about locals who are less than welcoming.

Well, you don't have to worry about that in Green Lake. We pride ourselves on making every visitor feel right at home. Whether you are here for a long or short visit, you'll find us treating you like part of our extended family. Everywhere you go, you will receive a hearty hello or an offering of help. Most people come back year after year and visit their newfound friends.

Read on for area news and events, but remember: Don't feel like a tourist, feel like part of our Green Lake family.

Happy travels,
Loni

  • Fishing Report
  • The water temperature is a nice 75 degrees and visibility is really improving. Fishing is beginning to pick up as the water temperatures rise. Currently, the best bites on Green Lake are Lake Trout and Panfish. Lake Trout are biting in 50 to 100 feet of water. Bluegills are active in weeds on the main lake in 8 to 15 feet of water.

Small and Largemouth Bass are in shallow waters and over gravel and rocky areas. The Whitebass are moving into the deep water and a few are being caught. Walleye and Northern action is slow right now. The inlet on the east side of the lake is still producing Whitebass, Walleye, Panfish and Catfish, but the catches have slowed since the fish are moving into the main lake. Carp are still working the surface in the backwaters and along the shores.

For more information on fishing guides and their fishing reports please see the fishing section on the Green Lake Chamber website or call the Chamber at 800-253-7354.
