Cure the Winter Blues
Winter can really take its toll on us. The snow, cold temperatures and shortened days can make even the cheeriest people irritable and depressed. Here are three ways to beat the winter blues.

Add some color. Uplift your spirits by adding some colorful decorative accessories to your home. Candles, tablecloths, pillows, etc. can brighten up a room. Place flowers and plants around your home. Even consider adding some bright colors to your wardrobe.

Exercise! Exercising rids feeling of depression by increasing serotonin levels. Briskly walking, running, skiing, sledding and even having a snowball fight have all proven to help sufferers of the blues feel better.

Eat healthy. Reduce the urge to indulge in high sugar foods. Eat foods that are naturally carbohydrated, like pasta, rice and fruits. And eat foods that are high in Vitamin D, which increases serotonin levels.

Eco-Friendly Travel Tips
In honor of Heidel House Resort's Travel Green Wisconsin certification, here is our monthly tip to help you stay eco-friendly while you travel.

Pack light! Even ten extra pounds in your suitcase per passenger translates into the need for extra fuel, which can then lead to more carbon dioxide emissions.
