August 2006 Heidel House News
Greetings,
Where has the summer gone? It feels like just yesterday that I was writing about spring and the upcoming festivities of summer. It's now the end of August, and it's the best weather we've had all summer. I'm loving the weather, and even though it's slowing down a bit, there are still so many things going on that the fun is far from over. I hope you enjoy our newest update on the happenings around the Heidel House Resort.

Happy travels,
Jennifer

They bring a great story and personal style to the country music scene and features “Diamond Rio”-like vocals and Nashville music talent. “Settin’ your night off right with a rockin’ country show!”

State Chili Cook-Off

It's almost chili season so that makes this the perfect time to dust off your favorite chili recipe, get out those secret ingredients and see how your chili stacks up to others around the state.

September 9th is the "State Chili Cook-Off" right here in Green Lake. Contestants will try to claim top prize of "creator of the best chili in Wisconsin". The winner will be entered in the National Chili Cook-Off in Nevada. Take this opportunity to pair off against some of the best chefs around!

Pre-registration is required by calling Bill Munsey at 920.294.6504. There is an entry fee to enter the contest, but visitors are more than welcome to sample the different chili and pick their own winner.

Cooking for contestants stars at 10:30 am and live music begins at noon. Judging is at 3:00 pm and following that, the crowd can sample. Activities will run until about 6:00 pm. All you have to bring are your taste buds and your good-time attitude!

Cookie cutters, 1 large and 1 small.

Directions:
1. Set the 2 slices of bread on a cutting board. Cut out the centers of each with a large and small coolie cutter.
