Golden Day's Harvest Fest

You may already know what Harvest Fest is...but if you don't, you're missing out! It is one of Green Lake's biggest events. It is the epitome of a fall festival: Cool weather, warm clothes, freshly popped kettle corn, kids decorating pumpkins, crafters galore, live music and a mile of classic cars on display.

My personal favorite is the Food Fair held on Sunday, September 26. All of the restaurants around town set up food booths and sell "harvesty" items. You can usually find a warm crème Brule among the many other specialties. Yum! Then there's the waiter's race. A relay is set-up on Mill Street and the fastest time wins. This half-hour race guarantees chanting for your favorite runner to win.

You may ask why I'm telling you about this now, since Harvest Fest isn't held until September 25 and 26. Well, I want to give you enough time to gather your troops and plan your getaway. We usually sell out of rooms as the event gets closer. But if you book now you won't have any problems.

For more information or to make reservations, call 800.444.2812, and don't forget: You can name your rate.

More about Harvest Fest...
Greetings,

This month's newsletter was a challenge to put together. The reason: So much to do, so little time! There is so much going on in Green Lake during August and September that it was hard to decide which activites to include. I chose my favorites to tell you about, but don't short yourself, go to the Green Lake Chamber website for the full event schedule.

Happy travels,
Loni
